Hi there! I'm Hannah Ruby
I'm studying Industrial Design at CarletonU↗. Having completed my third year of studies, I'm now eagerly seeking a co-op placement/internship where I can apply my design skills and gain hands-on experience. Available for up to 4 months starting May 2025.

My Journey
Born and raised in Ottawa, my fondest childhood memories revolve around making art. Whether sketching, painting, or briefly dabbling in pottery and woodcarving, I took every chance to unleash my creativity.
As I approached my final year of high school, I began searching for a practical way to apply my creativity to real-world challenges. Thankfully, I discovered the path I was looking for: Industrial Design—where, with a bit of imagination, hard work, and dedication, I hope to create meaningful solutions that enhance everyday experiences and improve people's lives.
Design Philosophy
With a passion for human-centred design and sustainability, I strive to develop holistic solutions that meet users' needs while minimizing negative environmental impacts. I strive to create user experiences that not only solve problems but leave people feeling good about themselves. I believe that continuous learning and experimentation are essential for personal and professional growth, and fostering innovation.
FUTURE GOALS
I am always on the lookout for new opportunities to gain hands-on design experience, broadening my skill set and adding new tools to my toolbox. Whether graphic design, R&D, or any other type, I'm interested in exploring many diverse fields within the design industry.
Outside of Design
Outside of design, you can often find me nurturing my green thumb by gardening and tending to my collection of houseplants. I also enjoy expressing my creativity through various artistic pursuits, including painting, collage, pottery, and recently, exploring the art of sewing and jewelry making.
